This is what we are.
The NCFO is a non-profit, social justice organization committed to developing and implementing strategies to reduce the “high cost of being poor” and to increase wealth-building opportunities for underrepresented and underserved populations. Specifically, we facilitate projects and partnerships to change lives and communities through non-profit social service agencies, not-for-profit credit unions, minority depository instutitions, and community development financial institutions (CDFIs). Working together they can achieve more than any one sector, agency, or program can achieve alone. Our goal is economic mobility!
The National Council for Financial Opportunities helps empower people to build assets and achieve financial stability through education, outreach, collaboration, and advocacy.
An America where everyone has equitable access to financial opportunities.
The NCFO is a proponent of initiatives that increase equitable access to financial opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, national origin or physical ability. Our mission commits the NCFO to ensuring these rights. If you feel we have abridged these rights in any way, please contact us or the U.S. Treasury Department.
